Verve
Image: Music Performance. Definition of Verve is “the spirit and enthusiasm animating artistic composition or performance.”
Ever had that moment when someone just lights up your soul? ✨ They inspire you to think, "I want to be like them." Those people who have verve (and nerve too)? Well, I've been on a journey lately, exploring my value and purpose. Yeah, I lost it for a bit, and I have grumbled about our industry not changing enough. But guess what? It's not all gloom and doom! 🌟 I've been lucky enough to cross paths with some incredible women who SPARK life – and they're doing it with audacity and embodiment.
Here's what I've noticed about these powerhouse women (women who have the verve):
These women dropped their head trash. (My friend Jennifer Bowman coined this term, and it’s soooo descriptive of the negative talk tracks that many of us run with.)
They are courageously, authentically themselves and they want you to be too. Just check out Shannon Foreman's Instagram – she's the real deal. BTW - many of the powerhouses that are top of mind for me are advisors running their own practices. And, the more authentically themselves they are, the more their businesses thrive.
They know what they stand for and they live it out every day. Like Melissa Reakenwalt, who named her company EVIE Financial after her core values of Education, Vitality, Independence and Empowerment. Or, Julia Lilly of Ryerson Financial, who started a fee-for-service planning practice.
100% of them protect their mental health and personal energy. Most meditate or do some type of mindset routine. They value fitness. Pro tip: They boundary their calendar to account for energy drains.
They are intentional about the client experience they create. They create space for emotional conversations with their clients. They use tables instead of desks or have couches to create camaraderie. It’s mind-blowing to think about how removing the desk can change the emotional connection within the office.
They don’t need to signal authority because they embody it. They don’t have to prove themselves to anyone, so they just don’t. (Okay…pause and re-read that sentence….they don’t have to prove themselves to anyone, and you don’t either.)
Because of these women, I’m already feeling better in MY own skin. Inspired by the audacious, full-living women, I reflected on what I could do to live into my personal power (you know, beyond starting this new venture 😊). I started a new morning routine: meditation, visualization, stretching, and getting my body moving. And you know what? It's been a game-changer. So if you're feeling stuck or uninspired, maybe it's time to shake things up. Take a cue from these amazing women and find what lights your fire or start a simple morning routine (gotta crawl before you run!). And hey, if you want to share your journey, join us inside Muriel Network. We'd love to cheer you on! 🌟
